Taking a printmaking class was a personal "must" for me and it was so worth it. This labor of love—entitled "Asphalt of October"—was a representation of the smell and feel of autumn in the backstreets of Washington D.C. and won first place in the printmaking category in the 2018 NOVA Spring Art Exhibition.
Potentially my favorite takeaway from the class, however, was the weighty zinc plate that I'd poured hours into. There is something beautiful and precious in it simply due to the length of time spent on it etching, burning, layering, scrubbing, drying, inking and repeating (therefore it gets its own mini gallery).
